Just wondering if there's a huge difference between amaretto brands?
ie: Dekuyper and Disaronno

or just buy the cheapest?

I don't drink amaretto much, but I've found that the brands other than Di Saronno tend to be a LOT sweeter. As in gag reflex-inducing.

has anyone else tried an ameretto called "amaretto di amore"? it's the only amaretto I've tried, I think, and my friends and I all think it tastes a lot more like cherries than almonds. just wondering.

It's a cheap brand but, ok. You folks worried about the Amaretto are doing it backwards. Amaretto is not the defining taste. That said, I'd never mix decent scotch with ANY liqueur.

Never had it, but I think some cherries taste a bit like amaretto anyway.
