I was shocked to see a G1820 using nearly 100% CPU time playing a mkv movie. The 4130 just uses 10% CPU time. So the Celeron is not fitted as a HTPC. Is yhis because of Quicksync missing????
PS my A4-5300 is also about 10% CPU load playing mkv's.

they have the video transcoding stuff missing, but for video playback (decoding, DXVA) there is support for hardware acceleration just like with the i3, at least it was the case with sandy and ivy bridge Celeron, maybe it is some problem with driver-software.

They are setup exactly the same.

are you using a dedicated GPU with the i3? Are you using that same GPU with the Celeron?

SAF 6.22 was spoiling the cpu usage. Did install Klitecodec pack with quicksync and the cpu usage came down to 25%. All use the internal GPU.
