Was browsing newegg and found a "Business class" proc -- and was wondering what the difference would be from non-business class processors

Anybody know?

Opteron has 1207 pins (socket F), whereas athlon or phenom have 940 pins (AM2, AM2+). Socket F supports more than one processor.

That has nothing to do with AMD Business Class.

As BlueBlazer pointed out, it's just branding. The idea is to create a "value brand" platform (mobo/cpu) for businesses.

I would expect that the business class processors will be available fo longer times, and also have a better notice period when they are going to be withdrawn.

There may also be other differences.

Rob.
