Difference of PS2 and USB mouse performance??

I own the Logitech MX700 and I was wondering if I would see any difference if I started using it on the PS2 port rather than the USB port? I need to free up a USB port for my new scanner, and I don't really want to get a hub unless there is really a difference of using my mouse on a USB or PS2.

So is there any differnce at all? I do some gaming, which I would assume stresses the mouse the most.

there's no difference in performance if you're using winxp because you can set your ps2 mouse at 120hz.

the resources taken for both of them are diddly squat.

but how would I change that speed to 120?? Device Manager? Mouse Properties?
