The Premium has software/bios switchable SLI vs hardware switchable on the Deluxe and the Premium has passive heatpipe cooling on the chipset and the Deluxe has a fan that is often referred to as being a bit loud.

Also, the Premium has corrected the oc'ing issues that the Deluxe has when attempting to overclock over 240-248(varies on individual boards) from the memory going into 2T.

The premium edition will never come out. Or it'll come out and be outdated by a new chipset by nvidia.

Really? The A8N-SLI Premium running my PC right now would disagree with you...

What are you talking about? I'm running one right now and so are lots of others. If you kept up with the times, the A8N-SLI Premium has been out for weeks. There are also a number of threads about the board in this forum.

Asus's Website:
Asus A8N-SLI Premium

You should have listened to your mom when she said drugs are bad for you.

That's a pretty interesting concept, consider looking at my sig and looking at some of the popular places to purchase around here like ZZF and Newegg. Maybe you'd like to see a picture of it running in my system? This begs the question of why some people answer a thread they really know nothing about.

Is it true that with the premium you can go beyond 250 with the memory at 1T??

I have been looking at this for long time and finally they came out , Just wonder how good is this mobo over other brand, like dfi and all ? Does it have some problem getting up and run ? Right now I 've had a Asus A8v deluxe rv-1.I like to get X2 run on this new mobo but some say that mine can run on x2 on my old mb..is this true ? thank..

I finally got my X2 4400+ the other day so I got a chance to start some oc'ing last night. With the A8N-Sli Premium, I'm at 300 2.5-4-2-5 1T.

You should be able to run a X2 on your current mobo w/ a bios update. Check the Asus website.

DFI makes a great motherboard. The difference would be that it has a lot more tweaking options that will allow you to get the most out of your system but b/c of the different tweaks it can be a bit more difficult to get stable. Can't go wrong with either board.

lol, that was fast,

Capt,Thank you
Glad to hear I can but I don't think it ready to update bios b/c I had hear some ppl having plm with new bios so I'm gonna wait till it come out right..Good thing I can save my mobo to upgrade x2. So the tweaks thing seem to be pain butt on DFI MB.I'm not much of OC, I don't understand it how it work but I do had it on Auto OC :) This is my frist time built PC , I should had done it 20 yrs ago to learn how do on IBM clone ..hehe

You didn't explain how good this new Asus mb ,I don't know but I like Asus MB because it was so easy to get around it well I mean not easy for first timer so I got use to it.If you tell me wihich board could handle better stable then plm..thank you reply

If you're not an experienced overclocker or only plan to oc a little, the Asus will be a better choice. Well, I don't plan on going SLI but I went with the A8N-SLI Premium for several reasons:

1. Heatpipe for nf4 chipset - nice and silent compared to a load fan
2. X2 compatible right out of the box w/ stock bios
3. Overclocks really well. I only started oc'ing lastnight w/ the board but have my memory running at 300 2.5-4-3-5 1T w/out any tweaking
4. 3 PCI slots(a lot of boards only have 2) - I need to use a specific firewire card for my iPod. I also have a pci ide controller card. And I just ordered a PVR-TV
Tuner card
5. Also, for a new system builder/tweaker. Almost everything can be tweaked within the bios, where on a DFI, you have to changed jumpers or flip the sli switch on the motherboard itself.

JMHO, hope it helps!
