difference in 2700 ram and 3200 ram

new sytem .....barton 2500+, Gigabyte GA-7N00 pro , maxtor 40GB 7200 rmp , 512 Xerox 2700 ram ... the sytem has dual channal DDR support ....how much of difference it will make with branded 1GB ( 512X 2 ) ram in that format ?

the PC2700 is only rated to run at 166mhz (333mhz DDR), and the PC3200 is rated to run at 200mhz (400mhz) DDR.

Your Barton 2500+ runs on a 166mhz FSB, so either will work just fine. But if you plan on overclocking, you would definatly want to opt for the PC3200.

That 2500 has some good overclocking potential that your pc2700 ram will hold back. Also the doubling of ram will bring forth some good things if you do any kind of video editing, or game with the right games.
