Difference between XP Home & XP Pro?

I'm behind the times, I haven't bought a new OS since Windows 98 SE. Whats the difference between Windows XP Home & Windows XP Professional? Also I want to be able to install windows XP straight off the CD not have to install windows 98 then install XP. The FULL version is the one that installs straight from the CD?
