Difference between 'weiners' and 'franks'?

Well, I wanted some hot dogs, so I went to the store . . . and wondered, what's the difference? I originally thought that franks were all 'beef'(cow brains, hoof, eyes, etc), but they have varieties with pork and chicken parts . . ..

Do you know?

While they are used interchangeably, I tend to think wiener refers to a skinnier hot dog, whereas frank is a larger, more substantial dog.

i dont like using the word weiner when referring to food...

"hey Bob put that weiner in my bun....."

something disturbing bout that statement
