Difference between these two video Cards?

One is T2 the other says TX, not too sure what the diff is but it must be something, maybe the heatsink it has on it?
 
yeah I noticed the cheaper card has 2 dvi inputs, while the other has only one.

I wonder why the first one is cheaper.
 
The only difference I see is 2 DVI on one, and 1 VGA / 1 DVI on the other.

As far as the difference in rebates, perhaps they have overstock on the dual DVI card as people who are buying a 7600GT may still have a regular old CRT or older LCD that uses a regular VGA connector ....
 
N615 has 1x VGA, 1x DVI. PDF dated 09/20/06. Memory: 256MB 128-bit 1.3ns (8x32) GDDR3 memory.
N550 has 0x VGA, 2x DVI. PDF dated 03/03/06. Memory: 256MB 128-bit 1.4ns (16x32) GDDR3 memory.

Those are the differences I see.

I wonder if .1ns will make a noticeable difference though.

NICE research!
Assuming the ratings are accurate ... then I would say if overclocking is involved, then yes, the difference would be pretty real.
1.3ns ddr means it should be able to handle about 769mhz (effective approx 1538mhz) before it's being run out of spec
1.4ns ddr means it should be able to handle about 714mhz (effective approx 1428mhz) before it's being run out of spec.
That's almost an 8% difference in speed ...

Of course the 1.3ns ram may actually not quite run at 1.3ns, and the 1.4ns could actually be a bit faster than 1.4ns .... so my numbers are just theorycraft, and not actual real usable information ... so they should be taken with a grain of salt.
 
Wow, thanks for finding that out.

I THink I will go with the "slightly" slower one. I have never overclocked a video card, so I dont know that I want to get into that. All I play is BF2142 I think that one should be enough.
