Bare drive is just a bare drive, no fancy add-ons are included.

Desktop kit comes with 2.5" to 3.5" bracket and SATA power and data cables.

Notebook kit comes with SATA to USB adapter and a spacer that makes it fit in 9.5mm drive bays (the drive itself is 7mm thick).

In most cases the bare drive is all you need.

First one is the OEM with just the drive and basic software. The second is the retail drive that includes the 3.5" drive bracket and SATA/power cables, the third is the notebook upgrade kit with a USB to SATA adapter to set up a drive prior to upgrading a laptop. The latter two also include Norton Ghost 15 and Future Soldier.

When in doubt, check the picture galleries. 😉
