What is the difference between these two cards. They were sold on Buy.com and Newegg, and probably at a lot of other places but what are the differences between the two cards? Is one of them a "less powerful" version? Thanks in advance for any information :)

IIRC the Radeon LE is clocked at 148/148 instead of the Radeon's 166/166 and it has Hyper-Z disabled by software for Direct3D.

are you talking about the original radeons, or the 8500s? if you're talking about the original ones, the le is a slower oem version without hyperZ enabled for directX, but you can easily overclock it and change a few settings to make it identical to a normal radeon

The 8500 and 8500LE Core's are the same, just run at different clock speeds. the 8500 is at 275/275, the 8500LE is at 250/250.

You're mostly correct. The 166/166 Radeons were the ones that came in OEM machines, the retail cards were clocked at 183/183. But the LEs easily hit the retail 183/183 speeds, in fact, my Radeon LE will run at 192/192 (it starts artifacting pretty bad at 195/195, though, might do better if it had a better heatsink instead of the cheapo HS it came with).

No, AFAIK only the 64 MB Radeons were clocked at 183/183 but the 32 MB ones (the originals) were at 166/166.
