I'm getting ready to buy a HP940 printer & I notice they have the c & the cse models for the same price.Whats the difference?

Something else I noticed that seems strange is on the HP website it shows the 935c with 4mb ram & the 940c with 2mb ram.Is the ram in a printer not that important that they were able to lower the amount or maybe it's just a misprint?

Thanks,Toro:)

I'm finding it for $149.00 at most stores,I've heard good things about it & had a chance to use one recently,I was amazed at the speed, low noise level & mostly the print quality for the price.Of course I'm coming from an old Cannon bjc4400.

the 940 is the 940
cse and cxi are their in house designations for retail or corporate
c is just shorthand

if you go to dell/small bus./register with a co. name/peripherals
its 119 shipped, if you live in a state where they have wharehouse add tax
do a search in hot deals

i love this printer - have 3
absolutely silent

When I bought my last printer, I emailed HP over this same question. HP always adds 'se' to the OEM models and not the retail models. I don't know why they feel the need to confuse the customers with these different names.

The main thing with printer memory is the ability to hold at least one full page of information. If the document is larger than the printer memory then the computer will keep it in memory and spool it to the printer. However if the printer doesn't have enough memory to hold an entire page, then it will print that page incorrectly (one possibility: printing half the page on one paper and the other half on another paper). Most things people print are under 1 MB/page: word files, spreadsheets, simple graphics, emails. Thus even 1 MB is plenty for most people. I often print complex pictures or multiple Excel graphs on each page. Thus I need about 4 MB/page and a printer with only 2 MB wouldn't be enough.

Thanks for the info guys,I'll check it out.
I notice the 960cxi is $50.00 dollars more, is it just faster or is the quality better as well?

My 2 cents. HP personal printers suck major dung. Most start off nice, but they all end up getting bad fast. Usually what is noticed that happens is the print head starts dragging on the paper. Or "something" makes the ink smear. HP corp printers are nice though, they don't do as much as Canon corp printer, but they are still nice.
