difference between Sony Memory stick and memory stick PRO?

is the PRO just newer with faster transfer rate? is it worth the extra money? i need it for a sony F717 camera. and also how does the sandisk and lexar memorysticks compare to sonys? thanks for input.

I believe that the F717 is first camera from Sony that takes advantage of the faster MS Pro. The Lexar and SD MS are just as good as Sony's.

Non-pro only goes up to 128MB. Most Sony MS devices made before 2002-2003 don't support MS Pro
