Display Compatibility: HDTV (1080i)

Signal Compatibility: 480i (SDTV), 480P (EDTV), 720P (HDTV), 1080i (HDTV)

From Text

Does this imply that the television will only display 1080i and upconverts everything else? I'd rather the TV just display in 720P, and if this is the case then I don't think I'd want to purchase this television. Any suggestions?

It up/down converts everything to 1366 x 768, which is a bit better then 720p.

Is that really necessarily better? I don't know much about HDTVs. I had heard some claims that 720p > 1080i
