Difference between SD and CF?

I'm in the market for a new PDA, and I was wondering what the differences were between SD and CF. Is one inherently better than the other?

(Oh, and while I'm at it, which PDA would you recommend?)

ipaq with ppc 2002 and 64 mb. I think SD is the newer smaller format.. doesn't use too much power... CF is little larger, larger capacity with more power usage.

I like CF cuz it goes into my ipaq and my canon s110 camera and also I got the pccard to cf for my notebook so it's kinda universal to me.

I Don't know a whole lot about SD, but CF is pin-compatible with PCMCIA, so it's really easy to find an inexpensive adapter that would allow any laptop to read a CF card.

Well SD also has some built-in copyright stuff, I don't know much about it, but something like Sony's "MagicGate" to prevent copyign of copyrighted material. I think.
