hi everybody i am wondering when formatting an operating system is there a different between the quick format option or the regular format option...

there probably is a different right because otherwise there is no point for the slower one??

Thanks
Dan

Quick format = rewrites the FAT, making the drive appear empty. All data is still there until overwritten.
Full format = goes through the entire drive and writes a blank filesystem. Data is "gone" for amateur purposes, but can easily be recovered with forensic tools. 😛
