Difference between Playstation 2 consoles

My cousin is giving me one of his two Playstation 2 consoles. One is the older verison, which is larger. The other one is small and really thin ( I guess the newer version). Which one should I get? Is there a diference between the two in terms of functionality (graphics, etc..)?

Not sure how this is an operating system question ...

AFAIK the only major difference in functionality is that the smaller version cannot support the hard drive add-on needed for FFXI. The smaller version has a built-in network adapter, however. If you don't plan on playing FFXI, I would go with the smaller version.

Yea as said above. Also, the fact that it is newer, means it probably wont break soon.

The smaller one is more attractive. As long as you aren't a die hard FF fan I would take that one.
