What exactly are we paying for when going with the Platinum motherboard rather than the regular?
Platinum - features - "The mainboard BIOS provides "Plug & Play" BIOS which detects the peripheral devices and expansion cards of the board automatically
The mainboard provides a Desktop Management Interface(DMI) function which records your mainboard specifications"

Regular - features: "The mainboard provides a Desktop Management Interface (DMI) function which records your mainboard specifications."

the features are the only difference I saw...

platinum has a bunch of goodies - dual lan, audigy onboard, and the nforce 4 ultra chipset. The Neo4-F doesn't. However from what I understand, there is no performance difference between the nForce 4 Standard and Ultra.

ps. i like my neo4-F.

Chipset differences, the Platinum runs off the ultra chipset which has all the goodies like SATA2, etc. etc. etc. While the standard version comes with the nForce4 standard chipset.
The Platinum has alot more goodies and does in fact perform better than the standard version due to it's better chipset.
