What exactly is the difference between the Professional version and the standard version of the office 2000 suite? I went to the MS site and looked at the specs for both and they look the same!!!

Is professional worth the extra money? Thanks!

If I remember correctly, Access comes with Professional and not Standard.

Yeah . . . it is the addition of the database program. If you don't do database stuff, save your money.

Are you talking about the Office 2000 suite, or Office XP (2002) suite? If you're talking about the XP suite, look at the chart at the bottom of this page.

If you're talking about the older Office 2000 suite, here's a comparison:

Microsoft Office 2000 Standard comes with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Microsoft Office 2000 Pro comes with Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Small Business Tools, Access, and PowerPoint.

Unless you need Microsoft Access to do database manipulation, stick with the Standard edition.

I thought Publisher was the module missing from the non Pro version. I could be wrong but it is one of those, Access or Publisher.
