Difference between Intel x25-m and x18-m?

I'm wondering the same thing. Actually, I'm not. All I want to know is if the drive supports TRIM. For the price and lack of details I have to assume it's a G1 drive, however.

The difference is x25 is 2.5" and x18 is 1.8". I have no idea if they are G1 or G2, but i ordered two of them this morning when i saw the price, can't beat 160gb for $379. My friend ordered 10 of them...

we'll let you know if they are G1 or G2 when we get them tomorrow morning.

They are G1, this has been kicking around for a while.

I was checking these out at microcenter and the drives themselves had no marking on them at all.

Intel's X18-M and X25-M datasheet states only G2 model numbers.

Perhaps X18-M's have a G2 variety. I could not find a page I found before on Intel's site which detailed every model number available and advised what type of retail packaging came with it.

I googled a bit, and someone said that they are G1 drives and aren't 34nm.

Well I don't know what to believe, but if there's confusion then I think I'd rather avoid it, lest I find I've wasted my money.

I'd like to know the difference between them as the latter here costs a lot less (with coupon code) and is in stock: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...L0E-_-20157021

Normally intel drives are sold directly, and you can see their model number and know the version.
This package is an intel drive + bracket adapters from a third party. People say it is a G1 in the reviews. I have seen a list of product names include G2 versions of M18s... but I have not seen actually being sold in stores, yet.

Can't you run the Intel Drive optimizer tool on the X18-M G1 drive though? IIRC from the anandtech article you can.

edit: Whoops I think I'm wrong.

AFAIK theres no G2 X18 drives on the market yet.
50nm don't support trim.

Its still a great drive.

They are G1's. I have them in a Hackintosh running in RAID 0. OSX doesn't have trim support so them being G1's is not a problem for me.
