Difference between getting something dry cleaned & getting something pressed?

I can't wield an iron to save my life so I'm thinking about getting a bunch of my shirts pressed, but I'm wondering if I should go ahead & get them dry cleaned as well instead of washing them myself.

Is there a difference or is it basically the same thing? can you get one done w/o the other?

I'd heard that dry cleaning can sometimes be bad for your clothes & that's why I'm thinking about foregoing the cleaning & just getting the pressing, I don't mind washing clothes, it's the ironing I dislike & all these shirts are washable anyway.

Anyway, since we seem to have experts of all kinds on here, just thought I'd toss it out & see if anyone had an opinion...

AFAIK, dry cleaning is a special process to clean the clothes. Pressing is basically just high-powered ironing. If your clothes are all machine-washable, then there's no need to get them dry cleaned.
