I have no clue which one to get. I gave up on pc games. help. also do they both connect to wireless networks? I have a laptop on a wireless dsl connection and I was wondering if the xbox would connect to that signal

You mean the $400 model versus the $300 model? The more expensive model has a hard drive and wireless controller. It also features a chrome finish on the front.

I'll probably get the Premium version or whatever it's called. My old XBox finally died and I need/want a new one. I keep pricing them but unfortunately, I have $400 to just drop on a gaming system right now. 🙁

Yes you can get a hard drive for the core version, but it will cost $80 - $100, so why not get the premium version which comes with the wireless controller, HD cables, headset and all that other jazz

Get the one with the harddrive and wireless controller. In my opinion, the core shouldn't even exist.

does microcenter still have the 100rebate on xbox360's?
overstock often has premiums for ~350 too.

get the premium.

Thats easy! Get the Platinum version for sure!

Platinum version $400

vs:

Core version $300 +64MB memory card $60 (its some outrageous price, may not be $60 but its crazy high for 64mb)

20gb vs 64mb? Wow thats an amazingly hard decision...

BE WARNED-> I got an Xbox360 and it lasted less than 30 days... Now I'm going to try my luck with a Wii.

Can't base your purchase on one experience. These things happen, just return it or send it in for repair. All of the 360s that my friends and I have are still going strong after 6-8 months.

My X360 has been fine for around 8 months now, it gets really hot which kind of worries me that it will burn out eventually. Even when the system is idle, it runs really hot.

Unlike the wii and PS3 neither xbox comes with built in wifi. You need to use a wired connection or buy a wifi adapter for it (the MS one goes for $80-90).

If you like Mario and party games instead of shooters and RPGs then the wii might be a better choice.

For xbox 360, you need the hard drive to play xbox-1 games if you care about that. As of December about 300 xbox-1 games are now compatible.

the only beef i have with it is it doesn't come ready for a wireless home network. So if you want to connect to your wireless router, coff up another 100 bones.
RIP OFF! pc wireless cards are dirt cheap, and no where near 100 dollars.

Yes, Microcenter is doing the $100 rebate on 360s until the end of the year. You can also sign up for a Microcenter credit card and get another $100 rebate.

Toys R Us is also giving a $100 gift card this week if you purchase a Premium.

The reason the 360 wireless adapter is so much more expensive is because it also does 802.11a. MS should also have made a G only adapter.

I have the logitech wireless cube things for under 20 bucks. Works in two story houses too.
