I have gone through several sources about this topic and they seem to clash. So I seek the answer from you guys. Extended memory is memory above the 1024KB (Conventional and Reserved) + 64KB (High Memory Area) mark right? What is Expanded then?

BTW... is Reserved and Upper Memmory interchangeable?

Wow... this reminds me of the countless hours i spent tweaking my memory settings to get games working in dos.

Basically this is not an issue anymore because windows takes care of all memory management.

The way that it works is that EMS (Expanded) and XMS (Extended) are two different ways to deal with memory above the conventional (640K). Which one you use depends on which the software you are using needs.

Hmm ok thanks... The 2001 A+ OS part sorta touches on that so I just needed a clarification.
