They appear to use different gigabit NICs and the 8HDA5+ has 8-channel audio, versus 6-channel.

I think you should look at the 8KDA3J as well. NF3 250Gb w/ on-chip RAID and on-chip SATA (2)... $90 at mwave.

Edit: Same board as the 8KDA3+ except sans the extra SATA controller and optical out (and some other minor goodies).

Hey EPoXTech, does the 8KDA3J use a PCI-bound gigabit NIC or the native nF3 250Gb gigabit? I have a strong interest in the native gigabit controllers. I see so many manufacturers ignore native chipset capabilities in favor of PCI-based controllers that I don't make any assumptions these days. :p And your site doesn't have the 8KDA3J's manual available for download, so I can't check for a block diagram to answer this question.

On Epox website it shows the following for the 8KDA3J:

? On-chip Gigabit Ethernet 1000Mbps providing faster throughput than standard PCI Gigabit chips
? Hardware Firewall for internet protection against hackers

So my guess is it uses the on chip network controller.
