Whats the difference between dual and shared memory?

Dual channel memory is a timing configuration between two sticks of ram, which improves their speed. Shared memory is entirely different:

Dual Channel is when two sticks of identical ram are run together and at sychronized timings, and where the motherboard can access them both simultaneously.

Shared ram is most commonly when a integrated graphics core (usually on the chipset) access the system RAM and uses that in place of its own ram.
