I ask this because i have an issue with a card. I have an eVga 6800 ULTRA video card in and Athlon FX55 system. I have been playing World of Warcraft and cannot get the game to play in native DirectX mode. I get frequent pausing and locking up. If I play the game in OpenGL mode it works fine (but I lose some graphical features).
I have updated all drivers and the like so I am thinking it is not a driver issue but I am not sure what would be the cause, thier support is lacking (canned responses about drivers etc). Are the power requirements for DX mode greater then GL mode? Could this simply be a bad video card? Never locks up in anything else, no crashing nothing, just WOW and Just in DX mode.
