Difference between ddr3 1600 vs 2400

So I plan on getting a 4790K and will do some light overclocking (nothing too crazy).

For ram, I want to pair it with the 2x 8gb ddr3 ram. But I'm not sure whether I should just get the standard 1600mhz or if I should pay a little bit more and get the 2400 mhz. Will there be a noticeable difference?

depends on the software as some things are more limited by different parts of the system than others
the performance difference between 1600c9 and 2400c10 ram could be similar to the difference between stock clocks and a low v oc of the 4790k
each on there own are probably not noticeable in most things
but put the two together and you may see a noticeable improvement in some things
