I just got a new mobo and it supports both ddr and ddr2. Would it be worth it to buy ddr2 memory. I am not looking for a crazy powerful gaming rig, I just want something that is fast and will be able to run multiple programs with out slowing down to snail speed. The most intensive stuff I do on this computer is some photo editing and hopefully soon some video editing and want to get started doing web page design (for fun). So what are your recommendations.

Past = DDR
Future = DDR2

Answer = obvious :)

Unless you want to re-use existing DDR of course.

fixed. ;)

samsung is already pushin DDR3. there's no reason to buy DDR1 cause if and when you upgrade your rig, it will most definently not use DDR buy may still use DDR2.
