$79.00 CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory - Retail

The Corsair Valueselect is on sale at NewEgg and I was wondering what the major difference is between the two products. I noticed the XMS has a "heat spreader". Is that the extent of the difference? They both are listed as "dual channel" in the Specs.

I searched the forum but found no direct comparison of the two products. I apologize in advance if it has been covered before.

the XMS has better "timings" - lower latencies. It makes a very small difference in real world use though, perhaps 2% difference app to app?

So how much of a difference will it mean in games such as first-peson shooters such as Battlefield 1942 or America's Army? Considerable?

What do you guys use? BTW.. this is for a Socket 939 board running an Athlon 64 3200 Winchester.
