What do you mean monitoring? Like DJing? Nothing, aside to target a certain audience or for people to think they're special. I have the Sony MDR-Z700, which are for 'DJing', but i use them to play games.

Closed headphones eliminate some of the noise around you.. but you also hear that they sound different.

? 50mm driver units and high purity cobalt magnets for powerful accurate sound
? reversible earcup and compact folding design
? multi positional, rotating earcups for single sided monitoring
? single sided cable for minimal obstruction
? professional DJ stereo/mono switch

for 65 bucks online off of ebay.

I used Closed style when recording bands. They need to hear the other tracks, but I don't want the headphones bleeding into the mics.

Closed headphones help drown out the incessent nagging of your S.O. and let you focus all of your attention on counterstrike properly.

closed isolates from surroundings, and keeps noise from leaking out. open headpohones are easier to make sound good though
