Difference between cat 5 and cat 6

What is the difference between cat 5 and cat 6?

Cat 6 was the new standard for gigabit ethernet. What the technical difference is inside, I do not know for sure. Although it is probably just a slightly larger gauge of wire.

The main diffrence is just distance of wire for quality vs cat5e. Cat6 you can use much longer distances to achieve gigabit speeds vs cat5e.

Cat5e is fine for houses since distance is not a factor for gigabit speeds. (unless you got a house over 100feet long/wide)

I has to do with the shielding and twisting of the specific pars inside. I dont know the specific difference, but I do know that the arrangement of the wires internaly, and the shieldinfg used make Cat6 better for long range faster ethernet.
