Difference between Audigy2 and Audigy2 ZS

Is it the same hardware (ie just extra bells and whistles, software bundles, front panel, etc?) or is it the actual card different?

Are there any other editions of the Audigy 2? How do they differ?

Oh that works... The firewire ports are all... the 6-pin ones right? ie... the ones that you would plug in iPod into?

my non ZS audigy 2 has gold plated connectors and by the pictures the only difference are the letters "ZS" on the newer version. The oem versions of each card didnt have gold plated connectors.

Creative is retarded, its pointless to compare their stuff at this point. Just get the cheapest one.

Well, actually creative has got you there. They made a "value" version of their Audigy 2 but i haven't been able to track down many details on it.

I am currently buying an audigy 2 and the seller said that i can just use the zs bios...

Creative does some funky stuff.

I have an audigy 2 oem and it supports 6.1 speaker system max. the zs supports 7.1. My card is 18months old and things have likely changed since than.

Stereo surrond which makes a differance for peoplke with 5.1 speakers who dont want to use crappy cmss

and the audigy 2 value supports 7.1, seems the "value" is a newer version than the one with 6.1 dolby.

btw. i looked around (google) regarding audigy bios flash....i didnt sey *anything* regarding that matter....anyone ever flashed an Audigy 2 to a Audigy 2 ZS ? (Not that i need it 🙂

BTW... say I have a 2.1 speaker system and headphones. Does the Audigy2 let me use the rear channels as front channels, the way the I can do that with the Santa Cruz?

Ya, for sure. He is burning the instructions on disc for me and i'll upload the txt for whoever wants it.

After some more learning about audigy 2 soundcards it seems that it all has to do with product numbers and not what your card is called, looks like etc.

SB240 - Audigy 2 (can flashed to zs apparently)

SB244 - Audigy 2 value

SB350 - Audigy 2 zs (just install the zs drivers and you should be fine)

I hope this helps and i recommend that you do some reading about this too.

you can set it so that a stereo source is played over every L/R pair if that's what you're asking.

er well the santa cruz has the versa port thing. so u can easily choose that as the output for when u want output on your headphones andonly your headphones. if u have to turn down your speakers thats a hassle
