Difference between audigy and audigy 2?

Looking to get a new sound card (I want the platinum version of either)....... dont have *too* much money.

So what's the major differences?

In the coming months I'm trying to make my computer into a A/V beast... good inputs/outputs, good sound, tv tuner/video capture + dvd burner. Sound + i/o is first

whats the deal with the firewire port on the drive? does the card have firewire?

Yep. The card itself has a firewire port. Dunno whether the one on the Livedrive is an extra one or simply an alternate interface for the one on the card. I've never liked the Livedrive in any of it's variations so I can't tell you.

Difference? With the Audigy II Creative *may* update the drivers a couple months longer than the Audigy I.

also, a general audigy question, if i have an electric guitar + amp can I input that into the computer? Outside of using a microphone.
