DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AMD T'BRED A AND B?

The Thoroughbred A and B perform identically at the same speed. The A version did not scale well so AMD modified the core slightly - they added one or two layers (I'm not overly sure of the details of how this is done) and laid out the core a little differently. The result is that the B version can be run significantly faster than the A version.

The only reasons to care which core you get is the overclockability and core temperature. If you read Anand's review of the first Thoroughbred B he explains the changes much better than I can.

OK, since I don't give a rummy rat's ass about overclocking I'll be fine with either an A or B T'Bred. Just don't want a Palomino...

order the thoroughbred and you are guaranteed a tbred.....just u dont know whtehre its a or b until you get it....which wont matter for you

If you don't care about overclocking, then I would get the Palomino if you can it for less money as the peformance is identical.

Yes, performance is identifcal. But there are other factors such as heat output that may play a factor.
