There seems to be 2 different flavours of AMD T-Bird at the same clock speed for sale as OEM processors. One is just 1.33Ghz, and the other is 1.33Ghz AHYJA Stepping or something like that. What is this stepping thing and why is it more $$$ than the non "stepped" one?

the stepping has to do with overclocking and the easy ability to do so. the stepping ability usually helps to oc better

there realy isnt a difference, the stepping just shows the exact version/run of the core that is used, (correct me if im wrong) the AHYJA stepping is one of the newest ones, that reportedly overclocks well.

Accually it has very little to do with overclocking.... It is true, for the most part that better oc'ing is a product of a new stepping...But the true reason for stepping is a revision of the mfg process for tweaks or to fix some problematic area of the die to increase yields, etc. Intel and AMD sure don't do it for the sole purpose for you to overclock. It shouldn't be more costly to the consumer to get a newer stepping...That's vendor cr@p.
