Is there a difference between removing a program using add/remove programs in control panel or using the uninstaller within the program itself?

I have had others say there is. The shortcut in the start menu with the program to the uninstall file within the program file is suppose to do a better job.

yeah, hehe, i havent even really used windows in a year or so, but i remember this :)

the add/remove programs panel is just a listing of registered installed programs, with shortcuts to each of their uninstall programs.

they're usualy the same.

also, if you've ever done a little regestry searching for kicks, you'll notice most uninstallers leave a lot of their config info around "just in case you change your mind".
