Difference between Acoustic Edge and Seismic Edge?

Hello everyone, just had a quick question, as stated above. What is the difference between these two cards. On Philips website it says the only difference is the Acoustic Edge has SPDIF in and out, while the Seismic edge only has SPDIF out.

On vendors sites however, they say the Seismic edge doesn't have 5.1 channel capabilities, but on the Philips site it says it does. Can anyone confirm this for me? What exactly is the main difference between these two cards?

I really want to replace my SBLive. I am tired of games crashing because of my soundcard. I know it is the sound card too, because if I take out the Live card and use onboard audio, games will run all day long, albeit at the expense of poor sound quality.

Thanks a lot guys.

That's right, it only has 2 analog output jacks, so 4 channels only.

That's right too. You can use spdif to pass thru DD 5.1 signal to either
5.1 PC speakers with built-in DD 5.1 decoder or
receiver with built-in DD 5.1 decoder and 5.1 speakers or
DD 5.1 decoder, DD 5.1 ready receiver, and 5.1 speakers

the point to have 6ch analog output on sound card is for cheap PC 5.1 speakers without spdif jack and without built-in DD 5.1 decoder, and use the software DVD player to decode DD 5.1.

What I say above is based on theory.

Oh ok, thanks for clearing that up Kingofcomputer

I think I just might as well get the Acoustic Edge. On pricewatch its only $62 plus shipping. And considering all that its capable of, I think its well worth it.
