difference between 9600 and 9600pro

just wondering if there are any architectural differences between the 9600 and the 9600 pro??

i dont mean clock speeds, i know the pro version has both faster memory and core speeds

just clock speed that i'm aware of. They are based on the same architecture, but of course the fill rate, and bandwidth would be greater on the pro, if that's what you mean.

The 9600 has slower memory. I'm talking about its speed rating. 3.0ns or 2.8ns. The pro has faster memory 2.2ns. These numbers may not be accurate but use it as an example. So the 9600 is not capable of running the memory as fast as the pro. Core may be able to, but I think they speed bin the cores and the ones that couldn't run that high, became 9600's

In theory, it could run as fast as a pro if you were able to overclock it to the same speed. But as keysplayr said, the memory on 9600np is MUCH slower, so going to those speeds is near impossible. The cores might have a higher chance of making it, but it's still hit or miss and it might need additional cooling.

but thats not really what im wanting to know, im not asking if i can overclock a 9600np to 9600pro speeds... what im wondering is if there are any architectural differences. so thats why i mentioned if the pro and np were clocked at the same speed would they perform identical?

i believe they are architechturally the same...the clock speeds are all that seperate the 2 AFAIK.
