difference between 68pin and 80pin u160 scsi ?

68-pin is LVD (low voltage differential). It's a 68-pin cable not unlike an IDE cable except a slightly different shape. 80-pin is what is known as SCA (single connector attachment) and is used for hot-swap trays in servers. You can use 80-pin devices without a hot swap tray by using an 80-to-68 pin converter. You'll find 80-pin drives are usually cheaper, but the converters will run $15 minimum.

cool so if i have a scsi raid setup, buying 80pin scsi drives will allow me to hot swap disks?

Yes, IF you have the drives connected through a backplane.

Yeah, the new Database Forums Server has hot swappable SCSI drives using 80-pin connectors, but Anand used a SCSI RAID array, and 4 10,000PRM drives.
