Difference between 200 and 266 FSB w/ TBird

Hey folks,

I have an ECS K7S5A and a 1.2GHz TBird with a 200MHz FSB. I have searched and searched and searched for any kind of benchmarks or opinions on whether getting a 266MHz FSB Athlon 1.2GHz would improve matters, and cant find much. I'd like to stay at 1.2GHz, however, as that's the fastest you can go with the lowest voltage setting on the Silverado CPU cooler.

I wouldn't see this making that much of a difference with normal SDRAM, but I have DDR.

Does anyone have any experiences or pointers to any benchmarks?

Thanks

Depends on what application u r running ie. bandwith intensive or otherwise. Generally, the 266 FSB CPU is bout 10-20% faster.

Thanks. Considering the money I'd get from selling my old 1.2GHz processor wouldn't be THAT much, I'll just stick with it.

I mainly do work in Photoshop and 3DS.

Yup. Keep ur 200 FSB CPU. U can O/C it to 266 FSB if u wan. Otherwise 1.2 Ghz at 200 FSB is already ass kicking.
