Difference between 1T and 2T settings and how is it changed???

I have a A64 3000 with Asus A8V mobo with Corsair value RAM. The ONLY things I've changed right now are:
245 FSB (or whatever its called on these A64)
DDR333 RAM setting (5:6 I believe)

I've been reading about 1T and 2T settings when it comes to overclocking. Also read about the HTT multiplier (I believe on the Asus there is no mulitplier listed and it just says 1000Mhz, 800Mhz, etc.). I'm trying to get a little more out of this CPU and was wondering if I should start changing some other things (like lowering HTT to 800 and maybe bumping the CPU voltage up one notch). What about RAM settings and where I they changed on the Asus? Thanks!

If you got the A8V when it first came out(revision one, first bios),you need to do a bios update in order to get all the options to tweak your ram.

Just got my mobo this week so it should have a pretty new bios.

ive been wondering the same stuff. I read that 2T will significantly reduce performance but I dont think my PC2700 value ram can handle much overclocking on 1T (it's 2T RAM I run it at 1T). I got a 3000+ and going anything over 2.15GHz leads to prime95 crashing, im sure its the ram holding me back, I've seen the CPU boot much higher than that but windows cant load and prime fails. I can't quite figure out the HTT crap either, i got sick of reading about it and gave up overclocking @ 2.1GHz (100mhz OC woopydoo).

tightening your RAM timings is more likely to limit your CPU overclock. Anyways, I was messing with my RAM timings today and I changed my command rate to 1T. BIG DIFFERENCE.

My Aquamark score is 350-500 points higher and my Read and Write Benchmarks in Everest are 100-150 points faster. My generic Samsung stock timings are 3-3-3-8 2T, I currently have them at 2.5-3-3-10 1T. My 219x10 overclock is still holding Prime95 steady. No matter what I do, I can't get my overclock to 220x10 without a Prime95 error in about an hour. But I'm happy with my overall results. I can finally break 50,000 in Aquamark!

I used 10 for tRAS cuz apparently Anandtech says memory in Athlon64's work best when the tRAS is between 9-11. I did some of my own testing (using tRAS 5vs10) there is a small difference, like really small, but never the less, I might as well use the looser timing for more stability.

so in conclusion, if you can use command rate 1T without stability issues or inhibiting your overclock, do it. It has a much bigger impact than lowering your CAS from 3 to 2.
