So I've been enjoying my xm trial which got me thinking.
Is there any android music player with a similar interface to xm radio?
Specifically, an interface that allows you switch "stations" based on your collection stored on your phone.

EG 80's, metal, New wave. Of course in the beginning, you'd have to set up folders and songs correctly but just adding to it as time goes on.

Oh, it would be nice if you don't have to hit "play" when changing "channels".

too tall of an order?

Isn't that a playlist? I use Vanilla, and have a few playlists, but I'd think almost every player can do that.

sounds like a playlist, or any music player that can sort by genre (assuming you have your music tagged properly).

question to understand what you mean...

- You want to switch stations that ONLY play your music that you stored locally, or you want to generate stations BASED on your collection that has other music in it as well?

If the former, check out "gonemad" music player. Not the best sound quality (that belongs to Poweramp and I've never heard anything else that compares) but it has a smart playlist feature that allows you to set up filters based on genre, year, etc... I'm sure there's other apps that do the same thing, but Poweramp doesn't to my knowledge so I can't recommend it for this use.
