nvidia is the chipset, so like asus, abit, hercules, winfast etc, buy the chipset and make the card, every brand have a different performance, because they use the different ram, cooling etc, i will choose between asus or hercules if i was u
from what i have read ... they are all pretty comparable .... the only real differences i have seen are drivers (when many people use reference drivers anyhow), the speed the ram is rated for (only makes a difference if you plan to overclock since they almost all run ram at the reference boards speed) and then i think the hercules one has little heatsynchs on the ram (which may not do any good)
just pick the cheapest one ... unless you want to overclock it ... then do research and find out which one uses the fastest rated ram
General component quality also differs between the brands.
One example would be the now so famous RMI filters, which, if low quality, causes the bad 2D quality of alot of NVxx boards.
