What are the diff between these 1GB SC evga 460 gtx's?

The more expensive one has faster clock speeds and probably a better fan.

So the fan on the side is better than the central fan?

the central fan is reference cooler and is quiet. the other fan exhausts all the hot air out the back which is nice but its louder.

What are the diff between these 1GB SC evga 460 gtx's?

One is Exhaust Edition with the scroll type fan which exhausts the air out the back of the video card (also superclocked). I think the EE is a bit louder than the centrally mounted fan on the other. The centrally mounted fan exhausts into the case somewhat but is quieter.

You can get away with getting a 768mb card for less than $100. At that rest you don't need a gig.
