Ok, I'm selling my 1.4 Gig Ks75a Mobo system to a friend. Actually more of a friend of a friend.

Well my question is, he is really computer illiterate. He wants a LCD Flatscreen. As of right now I'm thinking Radeon 7500. All he will ever do, is watch DVD's. Maybe the occasional game of Counterstrike. Other than those 2 things, I don't think he knows enough about computers to actually do anything else.
Is there anypoint in getting him the Radeon 8500? Of course he is paying for it, and probably wouldn't mind, but than again, the more money this Rig costs, the less I can Overcharge. :) What should I do? Is there that much of a performance difference in CS between 7500 and 8500. Forget future games and crap.

7500 based on older Radeon tech. the GPU is smaller and runs faster..Some support for directx 8.0

8500 new core supports directx 8.1 has more features..

for what he needs, the 7500 is fine, no use wasting money that you could gain for the 8500.

The 8500 just supports the new features, is faster, and better for gaming. For DVD purposes, the 7500 is fine, and it will game fine none-the-less.

You'll get Truform with the 8500, but I doubt he'll care if he's a computer illiterate. Since you're already stuck at 100fps in CS, you'll most likely see no performance difference, just a visual difference, favoring the 8500.
