Just drink Water.

I gave up pop a month ago and I do not miss it one bit.

Drinking alot of water (60~80oz's a day @ work) and I was drinking that in pop. I feel alot better.

Every morning I have one 10 oz glass of juice (cran~grape) and then I drink coffe until about 10:30 then it's water the rest of the day. Works Great for me and like I aid I feel a ton better.

I am fairly certain that both it and saccharin(sp?) have been demonstrated to be safe these days. The latter was believed to cause bladder cancer but it was later demonstrated that the species they tested on had a natural disposition to bladder cancer. Something like that.

Aspartame is only dangerous if you have PKU.

It's fine, the one we should really be worried about is Splenda.....hasn't been tested for decades like saccharine and aspartame.

my fiance just told me yesterday that the fda approved aspertame to be safe for pregnant women.. as long as they stay under 3 servings or something like that.. so if it's "3 servings" safe for pregnant women, it's safe enough for me

Aspartame is perfectly safe unless you have the extremely rare genetic condition "phenylketonuria."

Lots of myths, smears and general bullsh!t float around the web, and by word of mouth about Aspartame. But remember this, not a single claim is supported by decades of valid, peer reviewed and repeated studies. Not a one.

Read about the myth here:

In short, Aspartame is perfectly safe.

What is NOT safe is caffeine addiction and the damage the acids in soda cause to your teeth.

Over a 20-year period after the discovery of sucralose in 1976, more than 100 studies were conducted to support the safety of sucralose.

Even worse is the fructose thats in all the softdrinks and snacks these days. That crap will ruin a healthy metabolism fairly quickly.

heh, every time I'm in the grocery store I scan the soda aisle to see if something new has Splenda in it. Aspartame's days as the major diet soda sweetener are numbered 🙂
