I forgot why I don't like the stuff. Had a bottle from new years that nobody opened.

Anyone else get that effect from aspartame?

Try diet coke with splenda (never tried it myself though as I hate diet sodas)

yes, that exact same thing happens to me when i eat/drink "fake sugar" no matter what it is.. aspertame, splenda, etc.
I also found it made me break out a lot. When i went to my dr... he asked if i had been drinking diet sodas and the like.
It is not good for you, and personally, i would rather drink less of the products without it than double the amount of drinks with it.

I love diet sodas. If I have the option, I'll drink them over regular ones, I just think they taste better.

Me too.

Sweet stuff has always been "too powerful" for me. I can't eat more than 3/4 of a candy bar without gagging on the sweetness. Yeck.

yip. for me diet pop is a bad headache waiting to happen. and the only way i can get rid of it is take a nap. tylenol wont touch it.

I get migraines from aspartame. If I have enough, they're the kind of migraine where you just lie in bed, or sometimes roll back and forth, hoping for your head to finally explode and stop the pain.

Crazy. I prefer soda that's gone flat, mainly because fizzy soda makes my stomach feel like it's going to blow up, but also because the absence of the carbonation makes it a bit sweeter. In a related matter, I enjoy the taste of pure granulated sugar, and powdered sugar moreso.
