My car has a direct injection so it sounds like a diesel all the time. The high pressure fuel pump and injectors are the loudest I've ever heard...
The "Diesel" sound on cold start. Dealer stated earlier VIN did not match engines with valve issue. Stated this time start up noise fixed via software update. Engine noise is now gone

Well then I guess its normal this engine is fuel injected and it revs a bit higher on idle when I first start it up. But sometimes it can be louder on other days sometimes hotter. Maybe I did not notice it before but when I first heard it i was like wtf.
The engine is a 3.6L V6 FSI
also truedelta.com has

which is why am wondering and how could a software update fix that. But I dont really know to much about all the engine stuff, I would love to learn.
