didn't use my return flight, can I use it now?

Booked a return flight a few months back but never used the return ticket. Is there any way that I can redeem it for a different ticket? Even if it wasn't a refundable ticket?

It was with continental airlines if that makes a difference

of course you can. Airlines don't need reservations for flights. Just walk onto the plane... first come first serve!

wtf are you guys talking about. I paid $1,500 for this flight but I didn't use the return ticket. I'm wondering if I can change the return ticket for a different flight date. I heard some airlines let you do it for a fee

Usually not after the flight date has passed.

you can actually get in trouble for not using the return leg of a flight, but they usually won't do anything unless you make a habit of it.

Isnt there a number on your ticket you can call. I bet they tell
ya wat to do instead of posting your question on a forum that
will just cause you more harm. BAN!!

jesus you guys are cranky this morning. Step away from your computers for a few minutes. Last I heard, this was an off-topic forum where people ask questions. If they didn't the forum wouldn't exist. I'm sick of wading through a bunch of smart ass replies from people trying to be funny and whitty all the time. Where the hell did the good fellowship go?

you can rebook the same exact flight on a different day up to 1 year after the flight, for the normal change fee ($50-$100) for most types of tickets on most airlines. just like as if you had missed the flight because you were late. (you are just really late at this point, stuff happens, right?)

if it is a fully refundable ticket, then you might be able to apply the value to something else

call the airlines reservation line and ask them
if you don't get the answer you like, call back and see if you get someone else
if you are a frequent flier, be sure to call the "Special" number and go through them, they may have more leeway

Yeah, but when you question is What a certain company will do in a certain situation.... call the company and ask them. Every place has different policies and unless someone here works for COntinental, you're just wasting time.

How To Be "Whitty":

Step 1: spell witty correctly.

Thank-you, that is exactly what I was looking for.

I'm not saying FoBot is wrong or anything, but even though you have a straight answer from him....you're still going to call Continental Airlines and find out what to do or how to get a new flight, so why not jsut call from the beginning? What was the point of making this thread if you're going to end up calling Continental anyways?
