I deposited my paycheck at the ATM without signing the back of it. Will I be charged a fee? Will the check be returned to me or do I have to get another check somehow from my employer (payroll)?

Thanks

I doubt it will be a big deal. They'll probably just stamp the back with "For Deposit Only" and call it good.

Did it once while transferring money from my wife's account to our savings (we keep separate accounts). The bank didn't seem to care and it showed up in my wifes online checking without any modification (no deposit only stamp as previously mentioned).

I deposit my check every payday by driving to the bank, throwing it in an envelope, and jamming it into an ATM. I never endorse my checks and nobody ever whines about it.

If the names match, I doubt anyone would care.

But seriously, direct deposit ftw

Yeah, I really don't see it as a big deal, especially if it's a payroll check. It has your name and address on it, that should be good enough for them. If they think it's fishy, they can always verify the funds and/or call the issuing bank and perhaps even the employer.

I always do this with cheques. Never a problem.
